IT service provider Ergon Informatik continues to thrive. Turnover rose to CHF 33 million in the first half of 2022, while the headcount was up by around six percent. Ergon also had a special reason to celebrate, with the opening of a new office in Germany.

Ergon generated operating revenue of CHF 33 million in the first half of 2022, representing an increase of more than eight percent year on year. The headcount expanded to 370. Ergon CEO Gabriela Keller is delighted with the firm’s growth: "Our broad portfolio of sectors and companies makes us resilient. At the same time, our customers benefit from the breadth of our expertise, and our staff have a wide range of development opportunities."

Long-term partner of choice

For regular customers, Ergon remains a reliable digitalisation partner that works to the highest standards. Coop is one of those customers, having commissioned Ergon to develop three applications. One is to manage authorisations for working hours, the second prepares monthly financial statements, and the third is for staff shift planning. DSM is a global leader in nutrition, health and bioscience. Ergon developed a digital solution for the DSM plant at Sisseln that replaces the manual process for deliveries of chemical waste. In the field of digital wealth management Ergon has also developed 'wiLLBe' for the Liechtensteinische Landesbank, LLB. wiLLBe is a low-cost sustainable investment service available to the Swiss, Liechtenstein and German markets.

Strong customers, innovative projects

Alongside its work with long-standing customers, Ergon enters into a variety of partnerships with new customers. Bernina International AG is one of these. Bernina and Ergon have joined forces to make sewing machines ready for the internet of things.

Ergon's CardX payment authorisation solution is ready for the market launch of instant payments. It allows customers to pay immediately within no more than ten seconds, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, and 365 days a year. CardX has also signed up two more banks.

Airlock continues to advance

Ergon's Airlock Secure Access Hub security solution has gained nine new customers in Switzerland, Germany and Poland. Four Airlock partners have also won awards. They include Aspectra AG, recognised as the most successful distribution partner in Switzerland. In addition, in Germany Airlock makes all of its products available via the national public procurement platform, benefiting the federal government and all registered consumers. Meanwhile the Airlock Anomaly Shield now offers optimised sensors. Machine learning enables it to recognise automated attacks and malicious bots.

Multiple award-winner

Ergon was honoured with diverse awards during the first half of 2022. In the annual Universum rankings the company once again secured itself a place among the top 50 preferred employers for IT students. The Axenita practice software that Ergon developed for Axonlab was awarded bronze in the Technology category of the Best of Swiss Web Award 2022. And Airlock scooped gold in seven categories of the Cybersecurity Excellence Award.

New office in Germany

The German market is becoming increasingly important to Ergon. In fact, Airlock is already the market leader in German-speaking countries. This prompted Ergon to set up a branch office in Frankfurt. It puts us closer to our Airlock customers and enables us to ensure Ergon's outstanding standard of service.
