Best Employers (Handelszeitung & Statista)
In collaboration with the market research institute Statista, the Handelszeitung weekly newspaper compiles a list of the 250 best employers in Switzerland every year. Ergon came in eighth place in the ICT industry in the “Best Employers 2024” ranking, and was 101st overall – moving up a position compared to 2023 (when it was ranked 102nd overall). Both the overall ranking and the analyses are based on over 200,000 anonymous employee surveys.
Swiss Employer Award
In 2021 we were recognised for the third time (after 2018 and 2012) as the best employer in Switzerland. It is also the second time that we won the 250–999 employees category. The Swiss Employer Awards are based on an anonymous survey in which employees are able to rate their employer on relevant factors. Unlike other evaluations, the outcome of Switzerland's largest employee survey is determined not by an expert panel or by university graduates outside of the company, but by the employees themselves, as the true internal experts.
kununu
Ergon has already been crowned winner of several awards by the online platform kununu, which is owned by Onlyfy (Xing). The company’s most recent award was in 2024, when it won the Top Company 2024 award due to the very good ratings it received as an employer.
kununu rated Ergon as the company that offered its staff the best work-life balance with a score of 4.95 and as the company that held the best employee events in 2018 and 2016 respectively.
Best of Swiss Web Award
Each year, the Best of Swiss Web Award accolade is awarded in recognition of outstanding projects in the field of web technologies that were either commissioned by or created for Swiss companies. Ergon was entrusted with developing the software behind the projects that won the following awards:
2022
In 2022, our client Axonlab impressed the panel with Axenita, its web-based medical practice software, clinching Bronze in the Technology category. The software makes the day-to-day work of more than 2,000 medical professionals in Switzerland easier and ensures that they can devote all their energies to their patients and the symptoms they are presenting with.
2019
In 2019, our client Crypto Finance AG won Silver in the Technology category for its order management and execution platform and its asset trading portal. Crypto Finance is a blockchain-related fintech firm that provides asset management, trading services and storage solutions with crypto assets to professional investors.
2018
Three of our clients walked away with Silver in 2018: Liechtensteinische Landesbank LLB for its cross-channel online banking platform (award won in the Technology category); Strasseninspektorat des Kantons Luzern (the Roads Inspectorate for the Canton of Lucerne) for its web-based winter service management system (WiMS) (award won in the Technology category); and the start-up Viac for Switzerland’s first fully digital pension solution (award won in the Innovation category).
2014
In 2014, our client True Wealth, an online wealth management company, won two Swiss Web Awards: Gold in the Business category and Bronze in the Usability category. Gold Interactive was responsible for the design, and Ergon was the software development partner.
German Industry Award
In 2018, our customer Belimo received the German Industry Award in the category "Energy and Environment" for its cloud-enabled, intelligent Belimo Energy Valve™. The year before, Bossard reached the final in the category "Intralogistics & Production Management" with its "Smart Factory Logistics" methodology.
Best of Swiss Apps
Best of Swiss Apps aims to promote the quality of Swiss app and mobile ecosystems. The accolade is awarded in recognition of outstanding applications commissioned by or developed for Swiss companies. Ergon was entrusted with developing the software behind the following award-winning applications.
2018
In 2018, our client Viac impressed the panel, and was crowned winner of four awards: Gold in the Business Impact category for its Pillar 3a app, Silver in the Design and Functionality categories, and Bronze in the Innovation category for its app.
2015
Together with our client Corris, we were delighted to receive the Bronze award in the Enterprise category in 2015. The Corris app helps to raise funds. But, instead of a paper presentation pack, Corris fundraisers now show pictures and videos on iPads.
Digital Economy Award
The first Digital Economy Award Night (formerly known as the Swiss ICT Award) was held in Zurich in 2018. In the Highest Digital Quality category, our client Viac received a Silver Certificate in the UX and Lean, Agile & Scrum disciplines. In November 2017, the start-up launched the first fully digitalised Pillar 3a app in Switzerland. Ergon was involved in this project as a development partner.
Best of Corporate Publishing Award
In Europe's biggest competition in the field of corporate publishing and content marketing, our anniversary brochure "The Engineer is King" won gold in 2015. The jury remarked that the brochure not only created "an appetite for the job of the IT engineer" but that is also "showed how creative and exciting jobs in the so-called MINT sector (mathematics, information sciences, natural sciences and technology) can be".
Great Place to Work
In 2014, we were awarded second place in the international Great Place to Work Award in the category of medium-sized enterprises. This was based in part (two-thirds) on an employee survey and in part (one-third) on a culture audit, which was carried out by the Great Place to Work institute. 77 companies took part and 24 received an accolade in three categories.
ICT Education and Training Award
The Swiss Association for ICT Professional Training awarded the "ICT Education and Training Award" to the best companies for apprenticeships and traineeship schemes. In 2012, we won the award in the SME category, ahead of Bibus AG and Formalease Sàrl from the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
Dialogue about equal pay
Ergon was one of the first companies to successfully conclude the dialogue about equal pay in 2011. One of the key points of our corporate culture is transparency. Thanks to this, all employees are aware of all salaries and judge them as fair. The dialogue about equal pay confirmed to us that the requirement for equality has now been fulfilled.
Prix Egalité
In 2011, we won the "Medium-Sized Enterprise" category of the Prix Egalité Award. KV Switzerland awards this prize to companies that excel in the field of equality in the workplace.
SwissICT Champion Award
In 2008, we received the SwissICT Champion Award, an accolade for first-class ICT services provided by companies in Switzerland.
The SwissICT Awards are presented each year by SwissICT, a leading association for information and communication technology, as well as the specialist journal InfoWeek.
