Ergon and Airlock at VIScon 2021
16.10.2021
VIScon 2021 was held at the ETH in Zurich from 15 to 17 October. We were there, as we are every year, to enjoy 42 hours of hacking, 24 inspirational talks, and some thought-provoking workshops. This year's event was a complete success. Around 300 IT students were able to gain first-hand insights into our industry. Meanwhile, there was plenty of activity at the sponsors' stands, including our Squeeze-a-Duck Challenge.
VIScon kicked off on the Friday with an opening speech from our CEO, Gabriela Keller, who welcomed 60 hackers to the Audi Max at the ETH. On symposium day, Dani Neubig examined the opportunities presented by AR in his talk entitled 'What comes after our smartphones? Spatial computing'. It was immediately followed by Reto Ischi's security talk, 'When hackers do good: the future of security testing', which focused on the benefits of bug bounty programmes. The day ended with Roman Hugelshofer's closing address. We were especially delighted with the many duck designs that were submitted at our stand. The next Ergon Duck will be selected soon as part of our Rubber Duck Debugging Challenge. Watch this space!
