Since it was founded in 1998, the Swiss Federal Roads Authority (ASTRA) has been the competent authority for road infrastructure and individual road transport in Switzerland.

In order to meet the high requirements placed on the winter service, the Inspectorate of Roads of the Canton of Lucerne and ASTRA commissioned Ergon and Kelag to develop customised software that is tailor-made to their requirements. This software supports the winter service staff with their task of ensuring optimal traffic conditions on the cantonal and national roads. The efficient use of winter service equipment and grit reduces costs and increases the safety of the roads. In 2017 the Java Rich Client was replaced by a web solution.
